November 6th - Simon Goodrich, Portable Film Festival
Simon is the General Manager of Portable Content, the company behind the
Portable Film Festival - www.portablefilmfestival.com. Launched on
September 13 this year, the festival provides film content to portable
devices including iPods, PSP and mobile phones.
The festival was conceived after the release of the Video iPod in October
2005. Simon, along with Andrew Apostola, Creative Director, established
the business in March 2006 and developed a team to put the festival
together. Aligning with companies such as MySpace, Triple J, Getty Images
and Film Victoria, the festival received over 270 film submissions for the first festival from 14 countries and included a series of events in Melbourne, Adelaide and
Sydney.
Simon will talk through the festival’s establishment process including
gathering partners as well as outlining future plans for the project.
